Welcome to
The Art Studio

The Art Studio is a private tattoo studio located in Geldrop, the south of the Netherlands. Since 2013 the focus has been on making unique and exclusive tattoos. We distinguish ourselves by our working method: we see a tattoo as a process in which we prepare weeks in advance. A lot of time and love is put into the design process. As a result, we always make an exclusive and unique piece. For that reason we are a private studio and only open by appointment. At The Art Studio, your tattoo is not a product, but a process.

Process

We want to give you a good idea of our working process in the studio. Getting tattooed is actually the last step of many in the process.

At The Art Studio we make creative tattoos in which different elements are used to achieve a clear and interesting composition. Elements used in a design: realistic or surreal images, sculpture, old prints, old master paintings, women’s faces, line art, architecture, animals, text, geometric shapes and other creative elements.

These basic elements are extremely important to achieve a creative and unique piece. Not all elements use, need to mean something. When we have to stick too much to specific ideas, it is almost impossible to make an exclusive product. Creative freedom is therefore important in our studio.

To book an appointment, we ask you to make a request via email. After analyzing your application, we assess whether your project fits within the working method and style in which we specialize. You will always receive a response within a week.

When the application has been assessed, we ask you to make a deposit. The deposit is to assure us of the arrangements and is non-refundable. When you pay the deposit, you automatically agree to our house rules and conditions. Your deposit will remain during all sessions and will be settled in the last session.

When the deposit is received, the design process begins. During this phase, most of the time is invested in shaping the tattoo. Every part in the design has a function and has been thought through to achieve a perfect composition. We ask that you be patient during this process; a small project can sometimes require more design time than a large project and vice versa.

When the design is completely ready, we invite you to come and see it in the studio. Your design is presented and we give you an exact preview of the digital design. By coming down to the studio, we have already met once and the sessions can be scheduled. We like it if you don’t bring anyone to the drawing appointment or the tattoo sessions, this to keep the peace in the studio.

Based on the design, we estimate the number of sessions needed to realize your project. The number of sessions depends on several variables such as the complexity of the tattoo, skin type, size, placement etc. The number of sessions can never be guaranteed in advance as each person and each project is unique.

The sessions are planned in consultation. It is possible to plan the sessions consecutively or to spread them over a longer period of time. Please note that the rate is subject to annual adjustment.

Process

We want to give you a good idea of our working method in the studio. Getting the tattoo is the last step for many in the process.

Every project starts with an idea. Before we can book an appointment for you, we ask you to add reference photos by email with your request. After analyzing the reference photos, we assess whether your project fits within the style in which we specialize. Your ideas and references do not have to be fully developed, a theme, subject or appearance is enough for us. This can also be inspirational images of existing tattoos, photos, or paintings. We never copy work from other artists.

You can read more about booking appointments under the heading bookings.

Drawing appointment
When you receive an invitation for the drawing appointment, a deposit is required to assure us of the appointments. By paying you agree to our terms and conditions.

The first drawing appointment is intended to get to know each other and to brainstorm about your wishes and ideas. We take pictures of the placement, so the composition is personalized based on your body. Your ideas are the starting point, but to guarantee the quality of the work it is important that we are given sufficient creative freedom. As a result, we will both be satisfied with the final design and you are assured of a unique and exclusive tattoo.

After the first drawing appointment, we will start working on your design. During this phase, the most time is invested in shaping your wishes and ideas. Every part in a design has a function and has been thought through in order to arrive at a correct composition. Because every project is unique, we cannot estimate how much time the design phase will take. A small project can sometimes require more design time than a large project and vice versa.

Your design is then presented and we give you an exact preview of the digital design based on the photos of your body.

Based on the design, we estimate the number of sessions needed to realize the project. The number of sessions depends on multiple variables such as skin type, size and detail of the tattoo and other factors not listed here. The number of sessions can never be guaranteed as each person and project is unique.

Sessions are scheduled in consultation. It is possible to plan the sessions in succession or to spread them out over a longer period of time to spread the costs. Please note that the rate is adjusted annually.

Bookings

We only take requests by email. We are grateful and honor every request that is made. Once we have received your request, we will contact you as soon as possible. But please be patient as we receive many emails daily. We try to answer all emails within a week.
